Plein Air

En Plein Air is French for "in full air" and refers to a style of painting where the artist composes and executes a painting outdoors in front of the motif. The plein air work here has spontaneity and vitality but may lack some of the polish a studio piece would have. That isn't necessarily good or bad: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
