Current Work

Click on the images below to explore the different Galleries. In each gallery you can click on individual images to see a larger version.

These galleries contain examples of the artist's work. Please keep in mind that these are photos of paintings, not the paintings themselves. That may seem rather obvious but it is worth mentioning because so often we hear how much better the real paintings look than the photos on the internet. There's nothing like the real thing!

Recent Work

Recent work of all sizes and subjects is found here. These paintings were all completed in 2009. As you can see Gary is making a strong commitment to painting two areas in particular - northwestern Wyoming (the Yellowstone-Teton-Beartooth area) and the rural part of Pennsylvania where he grew up.

If you would like more information about a painting, the Contact page on this web site will help you get in touch. Please call or e-mail. Also check out the art galleries that carry Gary's work.

Western Landscapes

Landscape paintings of the great American west. Many depict the artist's home state of Wyoming. Gary has lived in the west for over 30 years. His love of wide western skies and tall snowy peaks has been with him from an early age.

Foothills of the Bighorns

The artist's hometown of Buffalo, Wyoming, sits at the base of the Bighorn Mountains. Grassy rolling plains that once fed bison by the millions rise abruptly to heights of over 13,000 feet in the Cloud Peak Wilderness. The ranches, hay meadows and wandering streams that water them are among Gary's favorite themes.

Pastorals

Modern farm and ranch scenes harking back to the homesteading days of the old west. The small hay bales of grandfather's day are now almost completely replaced by the big round and rectangular bales. The equipment has changed but the values that tie western families to the land are still the same.

Back East

Paintings from the eastern United States. The small farms, big barns and wooded countryside of rural Pennsylvania where Gary grew up still hold a firm place in his heart.

Paintings of Italy

Images inspired by a trip to Tuscany.
